Abstract:

IntroductionSince the last decade, scientists, ordinary people and politicians have become increasingly aware of the importance of ethics in social research. Scientists, especially social scientists, found that the lack of ethics in the science may threaten the coherence, integrity and establishment of social research. Because in a sense science is constituted by society and relies on public financial and spiritual support, social scientists have social responsibility and they should get involved in a kind of research which is based on society and its characteristics. Therefore, we should pay more attention to social interests. Giving that we can say science has many social and professional aspects.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Ethical and behavioral standards (professional standards) are based on several principles, values and ethical standards related to occupations that ethical standards like ethical and value declarations determine ethical virtues and behavioral standards set them to guide the members of minor areas. On the other hand, in particular, our country faces a range of problems and challenges such as the water crisis, the environmental crisis, the crisis of public trust and other social crises which in many cases may threat the integrity of the country. It is believed that such problems are derived from inattention of moral values, preference of personal and group interests to public interest and corruption in general and etc, . Our assumption is that the adoption of professional standards in every kind and in particular, legal perceptions of them will lead to the rule of ethical values at the levels of occupation at first and then, lead to ethical excellence of a large part of society. In the meantime, we found through descriptive-analytical study that ethical excellence, fight against corruption and the strengthening of public trust, the safeguarding of citizenship rights, the strengthening of professional solidarity, the preservation of the dignity and integrity of the minor areas, and etc., will be prove to be true as the positive effects that can overcome many of mentioned problems.

Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to find out the roots of the ethical system of the Gathas. The ethics of this article includes examining the type of religious ethics at Gathas (a religious ethics based on the fulfillment of divine attributes or natural law or divine command) and on the other hand examining ethical resources (virtues and vices de jure and de facto) and ethical criteria (virtue ethics or consequentialism or deontology). The methodology of this article is descriptive-analytical and uses library method to collect information. In the end, the dominant approach to religious ethics is based on the fulfillment of divine attributes and partly on the basis of natural law (divine formative will). While ethical virtues and vices of Gathas are generally rational as essentially de jure as well as de facto, they are sometimes religious. The ethical criterion in Gathas based on virtue ethics indicates teleology.

Abstract:

Introduction: Academic faculty members need to emphasize ethical principles in order to improve higher education, with the understanding of this importance, the current research was conducted with the aim of designing the ethical model of academic faculty members in Iran's higher education. Material & Methods: This research is a type of qualitative study that uses foundational data theory. The participants, including experts and faculty members of the country's public universities, who were responsible for the promotion of academic members, were selected as key informants through a targeted sampling method of 45 people. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews. The reliability and validity of the data were obtained from the two methods of reviewing the participants and recoding by experts. Data were analyzed by open, central and selective coding. Results: The results showed that the moral model of faculty members in Iran's higher education is explained in 10 main categories and 27 subcategories. Major and core categories in the form of 6 dimensions of causal conditions including (individual factors, organizational factors), core (cultural-educational, educational ethics, research ethics, scientific-executive), background conditions (higher education policies, moral activism), intervening conditions (environmental factors), strategies (micro level-university, macro level-higher education) and consequences (individual and organizational) were elevated to a higher abstract level and finally the research paradigm model was presented. Conclusion: The regulations for the promotion of academic staff members in Iran require a detailed revision of the content with an ethical and qualitative approach in order to make the indicators of the promotion regulations efficient and effective.

Abstract:

Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the most transformative and impactful fields of recent decades in the global scientific, academic, and industrial communities. Since all human endeavors must adhere to ethical principles, scientific communities have sought to establish ethical boundaries for the use of AI to foster global optimism and hope for its remarkable and future-oriented capabilities while avoiding potential harms. In this context, the European Union adopted the *Ethics Guidelines for Trustworthy AI* in 2018. Similarly, it is essential for Islamic countries, considering their monotheistic worldview, to develop ethical principles for AI. This article addresses this crucial issue. In this study, human advancements such as AI are regarded as arising from humanity’s innate pursuit of perfection. The terms "ethics" and "intelligence" are examined from both materialistic and divine perspectives. It is noted that materialistic thought does not consider the immaterial nature of the soul, whereas Islamic philosophy attributes sensory, imaginative, and rational perceptions to the immaterial soul of humans. Based on this understanding, the use of the term "intelligence" for machines is only acceptable in a metaphorical sense. The ethical guidelines for trustworthy AI outlined by the European Union—focusing on human rights, democracy, and law—are analyzed. Using Islamic philosophy, the meaning of "intelligence" is redefined, and the leading role of Islamic civilization in AI is highlighted. Islamic cultural principles based on justice are analyzed through the three foundations of piety, benevolence, and trustworthiness. This research was conducted through a library-based method, utilizing scientific resources from credible databases. Finally, a table of guidelines for users of ethical AI has been developed.
